Psychologist in family therapy works the relationship between several people from the same family.

Often, families consult a psychologist in family therapy when they are faced with behavioral problems of their children or their teenagers.

It might be:

  • Parental guidance
  • Conflictual relationship
  • Behavioral disorders
  • Divorce
  • Reconstituted family
  • Mourning
  • Chronic disease
  • Immigration
  • Others

In other cases, it is the question of separation, divorce, which is in the center, possibly with issues related to family reconstitution.

 

It is also common to receive a mother with her baby (or her very young child) in aim to recreate the link, to help build a peaceful and constructive relationship for both of them. In other words, supporting the mother in her “becoming a mother” and help her overcome her maternal difficulties, that the baby may experience the repercussions.

 

The analytical work consists of working out the continuity of the common envelope of the family, and helping them to understand and overcome the challenges in order to recreate links and pacify family relationships.
